PM Lays Foundation Stone of Kota Airport, Highlights Development of Hadoti Region

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone of Kota Airport in Rajasthan through a video message, describing the project as a major step towards strengthening connectivity and accelerating development in the Hadoti region.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said Rajasthan is progressing at an unprecedented pace and the new airport, to be built at a cost of about ₹1,500 crore, will act as a catalyst for economic and industrial growth.
He said the project will benefit the districts of Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar by improving connectivity and boosting trade, tourism and investment.
Highlighting Kota’s identity as a major centre for education and energy production, the Prime Minister said improved air connectivity will help promote local products such as Kota Doria sarees, Kota stone and agricultural produce including Bundi’s basmati rice.
Modi also noted the region’s tourism potential, referring to religious sites like Mathuradhish Ji and Garadia Mahadev and wildlife attractions such as Mukundara Hills.
The Prime Minister said the number of airports in the country has increased from around 70 in 2014 to more than 160 today, reflecting the government’s focus on expanding aviation infrastructure.
He added that improved rail, road and air connectivity will further accelerate development in Kota and the surrounding region.PIB
