Mendhar : An awareness programme was organized at Community Health Centre (CHC) Mendhar under the Pradhan Mantri BharatiyaJanaushadhiPariyojana to promote the use of affordable generic medicines among the public on the occasion of Jan AushadhiDiwas 2026.
The programme was conducted under the directions of Director Health Services Jammu Abdul Hamid Zargar and Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr.Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and under the overall supervision of Dr. Amjid Fida, I/C Block Medical Officer Mendhar.
During the event, doctors and health staff educated patients and their attendants about the availability of quality generic medicines at Jan AushadhiKendras at prices significantly lower than branded medicines. The participants were informed that these medicines are equally effective and help reduce the financial burden of treatment.
The medical staff also highlighted the importance of adopting generic medicines and encouraged people to avail the benefit from the government initiative aimed at ensuring affordable healthcare for all.
Health officials, medical officers, paramedical staff and members of the local community actively participated in the programme. The event concluded with an appeal to the public to support the initiative and spread awareness about the benefits of Jan Aushadhi medicines.
