Awantipora : Police in Awantipora have seized six vehicles allegedly involved in illegal mining activities as part of an intensified enforcement drive across the police district.
According to a police statement, a police party from Police Station Tral, led by the SHO, seized three tippers and three tractors from the Nowdal area of Tral that were engaged in illegal excavation.
FIR Nos. 19/2026 and 20/2026 have been registered at Police Station Tral under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been initiated.
Police said the drive against illegal mining is being actively pursued across all police stations in the district. Authorities reiterated their commitment to taking stringent action against violators, particularly those exploiting night hours for illegal mineral extraction.
