Says “Dialogue must to restore regional stability”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held separate telephonic conversations with the leaders of Qatar, Kuwait and Oman, reiterating India’s strong condemnation of any violation of their sovereignty and territorial integrity and underscoring the urgent need for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace in West Asia.
‎In posts on X, the Prime Minister said he spoke with the Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing firm solidarity with the Gulf nation.
‎“We stand firmly in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We emphasized the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy,” Modi said.
‎He also conveyed appreciation for the Qatari leadership’s continued support and care for the Indian community residing in the country during what he described as a challenging period.
‎In a separate outreach, Prime Minister Modi spoke with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, reaffirming India’s support for Kuwait.
‎“India condemns violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and stands with its people in this difficult hour,” the Prime Minister said.
‎Both leaders underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in restoring regional peace and stability. Modi also appreciated the Kuwaiti leadership’s continued efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Kuwait.
‎The Prime Minister also held a conversation with Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman, during which the two leaders exchanged views on recent developments in West Asia.
‎Modi condemned any violation of Oman’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized that sustained diplomatic engagement remains essential for the earliest restoration of peace and stability in the region.
‎He expressed deep appreciation for Oman’s ongoing support to the Indian community living and working in the country.
‎India has consistently advocated respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, while calling for the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic channels. The Prime Minister’s conversations with the three Gulf leaders come amid heightened regional tensions in West Asia.
‎The Gulf region is home to millions of Indian expatriates, and New Delhi maintains close political, economic and people-to-people ties with Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. Ensuring the safety and welfare of the Indian diaspora remains a key priority in India’s engagements with these countries.
‎Through these high-level conversations, India signaled both its strategic solidarity with key regional partners and its continued push for de-escalation and stability through diplomatic means.
