The first workshop, titled “Higher Education in the Age of AI: Transforming Learning, Research & Innovation,” was held on 26 February. It explored the transformative impact of AI on teaching, research, innovation ecosystems, and academic governance. Deliberations were held on AI-enabled pedagogy, research automation tools, interdisciplinary collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and ethical considerations in integrating AI within higher education institutions.

The programme featured expert lectures by  Puneet Goyal from IIT Ropar,  Rajasekhar from the National Informatics Centre, and  Hari Krishna Maram, Chairman of Vision Digital India. The speakers highlighted emerging AI technologies, national digital initiatives, innovation strategies, and the need for robust industry–academia collaboration to prepare future-ready graduates.

The second workshop, held on 27 February, focused on curriculum development with emphasis on Outcome-Based Education, competency-based course design, integration of emerging technologies, and alignment with industry requirements. Faculty members actively participated in discussions aimed at strengthening the academic framework. The curriculum design sessions were conducted in alignment with the AICTE model curriculum and industry perspectives, in accordance with the guidelines of the Vice Chancellor.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean, School of Engineering, underscored the importance of innovation-driven and interdisciplinary education.

The valedictory remarks were delivered by  Mohamad Salahuddin Ansari, Professor (Research), Department of Physics, who emphasized research-oriented curricula and systematic integration of advanced technologies.

The Department expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir and the Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, for their continued support and guidance in facilitating the successful conduct of the programmes.
