Urges Calm and Demands Evacuation of Indian Students

SRINAGAR: The President of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former Cabinet Minister, Hakeem Mohammed Yaseen, issued a high-priority statement on Sunday formally condemning the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader.

In a statement issue here, Describing the event as a grave violation of international sovereignty and a catastrophic blow to global diplomacy, Yaseen warned that such a targeted act of violence threatens to plunge the entire Middle East into an unprecedented cycle of war and instability.

He characterized the development as a provocation that transcends national borders, placing the lives of millions of innocent civilians at immediate risk and undermining years of peacekeeping efforts.

PDF Chief expressed deep concern over the potential for the conflict to escalate further, noting that the repercussions of such high-level hostilities are felt globally.

He emphasized that the international community must intervene with urgency to prevent a full-scale regional conflagration.

Yaseen made a direct and earnest appeal to the public to maintain absolute calm and prioritize communal harmony during this volatile period. He urged citizens to observe peace and refrain from any actions that could lead to civil unrest, stressing that while the emotional gravity of the situation is significant, maintaining law and order remains the collective responsibility of every member of society.

Furthermore, PDF President turned his attention to the burgeoning humanitarian crisis facing Indian nationals currently in the war-hit region.

He expressed profound anxiety regarding the safety of the student community and migrant laborers stranded in Iran amidst the escalating violence.

The former Minister issued a formal and urgent appeal to the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs to initiate an immediate emergency evacuation mission. He stressed that the families of these students are living in a state of constant distress and that the central government must utilize all diplomatic and logistical channels to ensure their swift and safe repatriation.

Yaseen concluded by calling for the establishment of a 24/7 dedicated helpline to provide transparent updates to worried parents and guardians. He reiterated that the safety of Indian youth must be the administration’s top priority, urging that diplomatic wisdom prevail over further bloodshed to ensure regional and global security.
