Srinagar : The Director General of Police, J&K, Sh Nalin Prabhat (IPS), chaired a comprehensive Security Review Conference of District Baramulla at Town Hall Tangmarg and inaugurated key police infrastructure projects at Gulmarg and Baderkote.

The review meeting was attended by Spl DGP Coordination J&K Sh S.J.M. Gillani (IPS), IGP Kashmir Sh Vidhi Kumar Birdi (IPS), DIG Central Kashmir Range Srinagar, DIG North Kashmir Range Baramulla, SSP Baramulla, and other senior officers including SDPOs, DySPs Ops, SHOs and IC PPs of the district.

During the conference, the DGP assessed the overall security scenario and operational preparedness in Baramulla district. He directed officers to adopt a strict and uncompromising approach against terrorists and their support networks, reiterating zero tolerance towards terrorism. Emphasis was laid on enhanced intelligence-based operations, proactive policing, and stronger coordination among units. He also stressed the crucial role of police stations and posts in counter-terror operations and highlighted the need to ensure robust security arrangements for tourists.

Appreciating the efforts of officers and jawans, the DGP urged all ranks to remain alert, disciplined, and mission-oriented to maintain peace and stability in the district.

Earlier in the day, the DGP inaugurated three newly constructed buildings at Police Station Gulmarg — the SHO Residence Block, Mess and Barracks Block, and Transit Accommodation Block. He underscored the importance of strengthening infrastructure and welfare measures to enhance operational efficiency and morale among police personnel. The new facilities will significantly improve residential and transit accommodation arrangements for personnel posted in the tourist destination.

The DGP also inaugurated new buildings at the newly established SOG Camp at Baderkote (PS Tangmarg). Interacting with officers and jawans, he appreciated their dedication and professionalism and encouraged them to continue their duties with vigilance and high morale. He noted that the SOG Camp at Baderkote will augment security arrangements and operational capability in the area, which is fast emerging as a major tourist hotspot.

Reiterating the commitment of J&K Police towards modernization and strengthening of security infrastructure across the Union Territory, the DGP emphasized sustained efforts to ensure peace, stability, and public safety.
