Shopian : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta Friday chaired a District-Level Task Force (DLTF) meeting to review and strategize the implementation of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme in the district.
At the outset, the DC took a comprehensive review of preparedness, target groups, availability of vaccines, cold chain management and awareness initiatives to ensure smooth rollout of the HPV vaccination drive.
The DC called for collective efforts to make the vaccination campaign a success and safeguard the health of adolescent girls in the district.
Stressing the importance of preventive healthcare, the DC underscored the need for coordinated efforts among Health, Education and allied departments for achieving maximum coverage.
Chief Medical Officer briefed the chair regarding the action plan, sensitization programmes and identification of eligible beneficiaries. He directed the concerned officers to intensify IEC activities to create awareness among parents and students about the benefits of HPV vaccination, scheduled to be administered on February, 28.
Emphasis was laid on maintaining proper records, ensuring timely reporting and monitoring progress on a regular basis.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmed Lone; SDM Zainapora, Bilal Ahmed; ACR, Shakoor Ahmed Dar, CMO, Arshid Hussain Tak; Dy. CMO, Tehsildars, BMOs, senior officers from Health, Education and other concerned departments.
