Leh :Lt Governor Ladakh Union Territory Kavinder Gupta has approved the grant of Notional Annual Increments for employees appointed under the Jammu & Kashmir Special Recruitment Rules, 2015 (SRO-202) during their probation period.
The decision aims to ensure fairness and uphold service parity, providing a level playing field for employees in Ladakh by recognizing their rightful service entitlements. The approved provision allows for the addition of annual increments that were previously not granted during the probation period on a notional basis. This adjustment will lead to an upward revision of Basic Pay, positioning employees correctly within the pay matrix. The enhanced Basic Pay will have a positive impact on future financial benefits, including Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances linked to pay, and will facilitate more advantageous pay fixation during promotions. Additionally, the decision will improve retirement benefits, such as higher pensions, gratuity, and leave encashment, as these are calculated based on the last drawn pay. Official sources indicate that this move aligns Ladakh employees with their counterparts in other States and Union Territories, effectively addressing long-standing pay disparities. Employees have expressed their approval of the decision, viewing it as a just and morale-boosting initiative by the Administration.
