Srinagar : Police in Awantipora on Wednesday successfully recovered 694 antique coins from the Pinglish area of Tral during a routine operation. The recovered items are believed to be of significant historical and archaeological value.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that recovered antique coins are currently under the secure custody of Inspector Tajamul Islam at the SHO Police Station Tral. Law enforcers have coordinated with the Directorate of Archives, Archaeology & Museums to ensure that the coins are handled and preserved according to established archaeological standards. This successful handover highlights the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to maintain peace and tranquility while also preserving the region’s archaeological and cultural heritage.
