Budgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Monday inaugurated the newly installed Hybrid Learning System at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kanir, marking a significant milestone in the district’s mission to strengthen technology-enabled and inclusive education.
On the occasion, the DC also delivered an inaugural academic lecture to the students of BHSS Kanir on the Periodic Table and Semiconductors, highlighting the importance of scientific temperament and conceptual clarity in foundational subjects. The session, conducted through the hybrid platform, demonstrated the practical utility of the system in enabling high-quality, interactive learning.
The inauguration ceremony for the hybrid learning initiative in Budgam was attended by key officials, including the Chief Planning Officer and Chief Education Officer. This initiative marks a significant modernization effort in the education sector, connecting over 15 schools through an innovative digital platform. The establishment of 55 ICT laboratories integrated with the hybrid smart classroom system has notably enhanced the district’s digital education infrastructure. The Hybrid Learning System employs a Hub-and-Spoke model, utilizing centralized studios equipped with advanced technology to enable subject experts and top-performing teachers to deliver live lectures. This real-time communication allows students to engage directly with educators, fostering interaction and participation. The model aims to optimize the use of expert faculty and ensure equitable access to quality education across geographically diverse institutions. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) engaged with students both virtually and in person, receiving positive feedback about their experiences with the new system. The DC emphasized the importance of integrating technology into education to prevent disparities caused by geographical or infrastructural challenges. He highlighted that access to quality education is essential for inclusive development and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to bridging learning gaps through innovative solutions. The hybrid model is designed to be scalable and sustainable, promoting academic collaboration among schools. It allows subject experts to deliver lectures to multiple institutions simultaneously, optimizing resources and maintaining uniform quality standards. To track academic progress, a Learning Management System (LMS) has been integrated, facilitating attendance monitoring, lesson delivery tracking, student performance assessment, and structured evaluations to enhance accountability and outcome-based education. The DC stressed the need for effective utilization of digital infrastructure, regular monitoring, teacher training, and capacity building to maximize the platform’s potential. He underscored the importance of continuity in education, particularly during challenging times, and described the hybrid setup as a resilient mechanism for uninterrupted learning. The administration is dedicated to fostering an educational environment that prioritizes innovation, inclusivity, and quality, equipping students with the skills necessary to succeed in a digital and competitive landscape. The Principal of BHSS Kanir expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for facilitating the Hybrid Learning System and for delivering an inspiring lecture to the students. The District Administration of Budgam remains committed to leveraging technology to transform the educational landscape, ensuring that all students benefit from modern, accessible, and outcome-
