Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that under the jurisdiction of Police Post Delina Police intercepted a vehicle (tipper) bearing registration number JK04C-1750 found carrying illegally extracted sand.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the vehicle was immediately detained and challaned through the officials of the Geology & Mining Department under relevant provisions of law.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police remains committed to taking strict action against illegal mining and appeals to the public to report such activities to the nearest police unit.
