Srinagar : A key interaction was held at Nigeen Bagh-e-Shagufa Srinagar between M. Yaqoob Dunoo, Head of the Tourism Wing at IHRO J&K, and students from Chanakya Mandal Pariwar.
The session lasted nearly three hours and addressed various topics related to Jammu and Kashmir, with a primary focus on the tourism sector. Mr. Dunoo emphasized the vast potential of tourism in the Union Territory, while also discussing the challenges it faces and the necessity for a clear, sustainable growth strategy. He stressed the importance of responsible tourism and the involvement of local communities in the development process. Key points included the need for improved infrastructure, effective policy support, and coordinated efforts to establish a robust tourism ecosystem. The discussion highlighted the role of young people, civil society, and educational institutions in promoting the region’s cultural heritage, scenic beauty, and hospitality traditions on both national and international platforms. The students actively engaged in the conversation, posing insightful questions about employment opportunities linked to tourism, its potential to foster peace, and avenues for innovation and entrepreneurship within the sector. This exchange of ideas fostered a spirit of national unity and constructive dialogue among participants.
