Rajouri : A one day “Display Your Talent” program was Friday organized at Government Boys’ Model Higher Secondary School, Rajouri in connection with the selection of students for the flagship PRERANA Program of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The event was held under the overall supervision of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri, Mohd. Hafiz, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students from different zones of District Rajouri, the CEO shared valuable words of wisdom and motivated them to strive for excellence, leadership and character building. He emphasized that such initiatives provide a national platform for students to showcase their talent and broaden their horizons.
Pertinent to mention, PRERANA is a week-long residential experiential learning program by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at students of Classes IX to XII. The program seeks to foster leadership qualities, core human values and 21st-century skills among young learners. It blends Indian Knowledge Systems with modern technology and aims to provide an inspiring, value-based educational experience in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The program is conducted at a historic vernacular school in Vadnagar, Gujarat. Each weekly batch comprises 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) drawn from 10 different States and Union Territories, ensuring diverse representation from across the country.
The curriculum of PRERANA is built around nine core values including dignity, humility, valor, hard work and service. It incorporates interactive and hands-on learning modules such as 3D printing, drone technology, local art and storytelling. Launched with the objective of empowering youth, the initiative draws inspiration from the educational journey of the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
For the district-level selection, more than 150 students from various parts of Rajouri participated enthusiastically in seven different categories of competition. The event concluded with interviews of the top 30 shortlisted students.
The nodal agency for organizing the program was Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Kotranka, while Principal Government Boys’ Model Higher Secondary School, Rajouri, M.M. Wani, extended valuable support and cooperation for the successful conduct of the event.
The proceedings of the program were efficiently conducted by Umesh Kumar and Vikrant Sharma.
The event marked a significant step towards identifying and nurturing young talent from the district for participation in a prestigious national-level program.
