Dir Agriculture Jammu inspects developmental activities at SM Farm Chinore

Jammu : Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta, Thursday visited the Seed Multiplication (SM) Farm, Chinore to review the physical progress of ongoing projects being implemented at the farm.
Joint Director Agriculture (Farms/SLUB), Aman Jyoti Sharma; Deputy Director Agriculture (Central), Sanjeev Rai Gupta; Accounts Officer, Vriti Uppal; Farm Manager, Vriender Dogra and farm officers accompanied the Director during the visit.
At the outset, the Director chaired a review meeting and took stock of the expenditure and physical progress achieved under various ongoing projects at SM Farm Chinore. Farm Manager, Virender Dogra, presented a detailed overview of the works in progress and briefed the Director about the infrastructure development initiatives being executed at the farm.
Interacting with the Farm Manager and staff, the Director stressed that all possible efforts should be made to enhance seed production at departmental farms to ensure the availability of high-quality seeds produced under local agro-climatic conditions and meeting prescribed quality parameters. Director Anil Gupta appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Farm Manager and the entire team of SM Farm Chinore in advancing agricultural innovation.
The Director also inspected the crop stand at the farm and reviewed the quality production of Foundation and Certified Seed of various wheat varieties and other crops including Mustard, Toria and Barseem. He further assessed the status of farm mechanization, drainage systems and irrigation facilities to ensure optimal farm management and enhanced productivity.
During the visit, the Director interacted with staff, technicians, machinery operators and farm workers. He gave patient hearing to their issues and grievances, particularly those related to service matters and assured them that their concerns would be taken up with the concerned authorities at the earliest.
