Registration, issuance of Birth and Death certificates reviewed at Handwara

Kupwara : Additional Deputy Commissioner ,(ADC), Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, Saturday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of registration and issuance of Birth and Death certificates and discussed other related issues in Sub Division Handwara.
During the meeting, the ADC reviewed the functioning of registration units and evaluated the status of timely registration and issuance of Birth and Death certificates. He stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure prompt and hassle-free delivery of services to the public, emphasizing that registration of vital events is essential for maintaining accurate records and enabling citizens to avail various government benefits.
The ADC directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines and maintain transparency and accountability in the registration process. He also instructed officers to enhance public awareness regarding the importance of registering births and deaths within the stipulated time period.
The Block Development Officers (BDOs) were instructed to organize awareness camps in villages, particularly in far-flung areas, to educate people about the procedure for registration of births and deaths and to facilitate timely issuance of certificates.
Various issues and challenges being faced at the ground level were discussed in a threadbare manner, and the ADC issued necessary directions to streamline the process and improve coordination among departments.
The meeting was attended by Block Development Officers, Block Medical Officers, and officials of Municipal Committees Handwara and Langate.
