New Delhi: In this week’s KH Snippets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex and Kartavya Bhavan, in New Delhi, marking a major consolidation of India’s top administrative offices under a modern, digitally integrated governance framework.  The new complexes now house the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, the Cabinet Secretariat and several key ministries, a move the PMO described as a transformative step toward efficient, secure and citizen-centric governance.

  1. PM Inaugurates Seva Teerth Complex: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday this week formally inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex, the newly constructed administrative hub that now houses the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a public programme at the complex later in the evening.
  2. Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2 Opened: PM Modi on Friday this week inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2, which accommodate several key ministries including Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Law and Agriculture. The Prime Minister’s Office termed the development a “transformative milestone” aimed at strengthening coordination and improving governance efficiency.
  3. Ministries Shift From Fragmented Offices: According to the PMO, the relocation was undertaken to address operational inefficiencies caused by fragmented and ageing infrastructure across the Central Vista area. The new complexes consolidate administrative functions in modern, integrated facilities designed to enhance collaboration and streamline decision-making.
  4. Green, Secure, Citizen-Centric Design: The buildings comply with 4-Star GRIHA standards and feature renewable energy systems, water-conservation mechanisms, and advanced waste-management solutions. Equipped with smart access controls, surveillance networks, and centralised public interface zones, the complexes are intended to promote efficiency, security, and a citizen-centric governance ecosystem.
