Srinagar :Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chaired a dedicated administrative meeting of the Board at it’s Central Office in Srinagar today to assess and finalise arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin convened the meeting. The review brought together all senior administrative officers of the Board from whole of Kashmir division as well as imams and ulema from across the valley to ensure comprehensive planning.
Dr Darakhshan discussed comprehensive arrangements for the upcoming month of special prayers and congregations at mosques and shrines. A coordinated roadmap was also discussed to ensure harmony among various units and departments involved in the preparations. The Chairperson of the Board emphasized the importance of providing reliable facilities to all participants during this period. Dr. Andrabi noted that the Waqf Board has earned public trust over the past three years, leading to heightened expectations from the community. She called for a renewed commitment to meet these expectations with dedication and enterprise. Teamwork was highlighted as crucial for success, with a call for Administrators to collaborate with government departments to create a comprehensive work plan for improved effectiveness. Additionally, Dr. Andrabi underscored the vital role of imams and khateebs during Ramadan, encouraging them to foster piety, peace, and social harmony through their sermons, thereby enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the holy month.
