Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma conducted a detailed verification of the digitisation of Jamabandis in Tehsil Rajouri Saturday, marking a significant step towards strengthening transparency and accuracy in land records.
During the exercise, the DC reviewed the status of digitised land records and verified their correctness in the presence of revenue officials and members of the general public. He emphasised that the digitisation of Jamabandis is a crucial reform aimed at ensuring easy access to land records, preventing disputes and improving service delivery to citizens.
The DC stated that the initiative will bring greater transparency, accountability and efficiency in revenue administration, enabling landowners to access authentic records without unnecessary delays. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that all entries are verified thoroughly and any discrepancies are rectified promptly.
The general public was also encouraged to check their records and report any errors so that corrections could be made on the spot.
Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Gupta, along with Girdawars, Patwaris and a large number of citizens, was present during the verification process.
