Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has attached immovable properties comprising 6 shops, 5 godowns, one tin-shed, and one plinth located at Village Manigam, belonging to a drug peddler Mohd Ashraf Khanday S/o Gh. Ahmad Khanday R/o Nipora, Kulgam, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Qazigund.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that action has been taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act to attach properties linked to illicit drug trafficking, identified as proceeds of crime. The properties, valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore, are directly associated with drug peddling operations. The accused is also involved in a separate FIR under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act. SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary on this occasion emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and related activities. He warned that individuals involved in drug peddling, financing, or supporting the narcotics trade will face severe legal consequences, including property attachment and prosecution under stringent laws. Choudhary appealed people to cooperate with police in combating drug-related issues and share information to protect youth and society from the harmful effects of drugs.
