Mission Vatsalya, Mission Shakti hold Two-Day Training on Safer Workplaces, Institutional Accountability

Srinagar : A two-day training programme on Organisational Behaviour and Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act was held under the joint banner of Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti, Social Welfare Department.
The workshop centres on the POSH Act, 2013, a landmark Indian law designed to prevent, prohibit, and redress sexual harassment in workplaces.
The programme was inaugurated by Mission Director, Nazim Zai Khan, who emphasised the importance of embedding gender sensitivity and accountability into institutional practice.
Officials, administrators, and professionals from various departments attended the workshop and discussed on how workplace environments can be made safer, more responsive, and more inclusive.
The technical sessions on organisational behaviour were led by CEO, ELFA International, Nawab Mehran Khan and Specialist Gender, Sameena Mir. Their sessions combined legal awareness with practical discussions on communication, workplace ethics, grievance redressal systems, and conflict resolution. Participants were sensitized that not only procedures but also attitudes and everyday interactions shape professional culture. By integrating behavioral insights with statutory provisions, the programme aims to build internal capacity so that complaints are handled fairly, sensitively, and effectively.
Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti, initiatives focused on protection and empowerment of women and children, have increasingly emphasised capacity building as a cornerstone of reform.
