JKBOSE conducts orientation programme on NPEP

Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Friday organized an Orientation Programme for educators representing 15 zones of district Jammu.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of the National Population Education Project, NCERT with a focus agenda on holistic student- welfare and adolescent well-being involving issues of population/ adolescent related themes.
Inaugurating the workshop, the Chairman JKBOSE, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh underscored the critical importance of adolescence as a transformative phase in a child’s life. He remarked that every child is a cosmos in itself, endowed with immense potential and inherent capabilities, adding that it is our collective responsibility to identify, nurture and draw out this potential in a constructive and meaningful manner.
Director Academics, JKBOSE, Dr. Parveen Singh in his key note address said that present era is characterized by rapid technological advancement. He emphasized the urgent need to equip teachers with innovative technological skills and contemporary pedagogical tools to effectively guide and handle adolescents in an informed and sensitive manner.
Dy Director Academics, Dr. Yasir Hamid Sirwal presented the formal welcome address, highlighting the importance of conducting such advocacy programmes for enlightened citizenry. He said guiding adolescents properly is an investment in developing future human resources.
The programme witnessed active participation from Principals, Lecturers, Masters and Teachers. The Resource Persons from School Education Department deliberated on key themes including: Adolescence Education Programme (AEP), School Health & Wellness initiatives under Ayushman Bharat, HIV/AIDS awareness, substance abuse prevention, Tobacco-free educational institutions and various student-centric schemes of JKBOSE
Academic Officer, Sugandh managed the proceedings of the event, while Academic Officer, Chander Kumar presented the vote of thanks.
