Srinagar : Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, visited the Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib (RA) shrine in Srinagar, where she paid her respects and prayed for peace and welfare.
Accompanied by Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and other dignitaries, she laid the foundation for the reconstruction of a women’s Sabaat, highlighting the need for such facilities. Over the past three years, significant improvements have been made at the shrine, which have been well-received by the community. During her visit, Dr. Andrabi inaugurated new kiosks that replaced old structures, enhancing the entrance’s appearance and safety for small business operators. The new kiosks were designed to complement the shrine’s serene environment, addressing a long-standing demand from visitors. Dr. Andrabi expressed gratitude for the positive feedback from the public regarding the transformative efforts undertaken by the Waqf Board across various shrines. Her arrival was met with a warm welcome from the local community and visitors, underscoring the significance of her initiatives.
