Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case within three hours by arresting the accused lady involved in the commission of the crime and recovered the stolen property.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a complaint was filed at Police Station Awantipora by Shaiq Ahmad Bhat regarding the theft of gold ornaments and cash from his home. In response, a case was registered under FIR No. 33/2026, and an investigation commenced. During the investigation, a police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) and utilizing modern investigative techniques such as CCTV footage analysis, identified a suspect, Asmat Jan, a resident of RajporaUllar. She was subsequently arrested, and stolen property valued at approximately ₹14,00,000 was recovered from her possession. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to conduct swift investigations, taking timely action, and ensuring the protection of public property. Ongoing investigations are still in progress.
