Ganderbal : In connection with the ‘Safer Internet Day’, observed worldwide on the second Tuesday of February, an awareness event was held at the Conference Hall, Ganderbal organized by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ganderbal under the theme “Smart Tech, Safe Choices.”
Addressing the event, District Informatics Officer (DIO), Ganderbal highlighted the growing challenges of cyber threats and the importance of cyber awareness in Wednesday’s digital age.
On the occasion, participants were sensitized on basic cyber safety measures, including the use of strong long alphanumeric passwords, avoiding clicking on suspicious links, and staying alert to emerging threats such as deepfake technology.
The session emphasized responsible and informed use of the internet to prevent cyber fraud and misinformation.
The programme concluded with a call for collective responsibility to ensure a safer and more secure digital environment.
