Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has suspended a Junior Assistant posted in Ganderbal district for alleged non-compliance of official orders and dereliction of duties, officials said on Wednesday.

According to an order issued by the Directorate, instructions had been circulated to subordinate offices to keep offices open and ensure availability of officials in connection with replies relating to Cut Motions for Demands for Grants during the ongoing Legislative Assembly session.

However, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a Junior Assistant of Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal presently deployed in the office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal, allegedly left the office, switched off his mobile phone and failed to respond, resulting in delay in compiling and submitting the required information.

The order stated that his conduct amounted to breach of service rules and dereliction of duties.

“In view of the above and in terms of Rule 31 of the J&K CCA Rules, 1956, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Bhat is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” it said.
During the suspension period, he has been attached to Boys High School Kachpathri in Ganderbal, the order added.
