CUKholds online workshop on ‘Data Analytics & AI with MATLAB’

Ganderbal : Departments of Physics and Information Technology, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) in collaboration with DesignTech Systems, New Delhi, successfully conducted a two-day online workshop on “Data Analytics & AI with MATLAB” on February 9–10, 2026.
The AI Summit 2026 India workshop brought together students, research scholars, and faculty from various departments at the University, focusing on the applications of MATLAB in data science and artificial intelligence. Participants engaged in a comprehensive data analytics workflow through expert lectures and hands-on training, covering essential topics such as dataset preprocessing, machine learning algorithms, signal processing, and data visualization. The practical exercises provided attendees with insights into real-world problem-solving techniques. A notable aspect of the workshop was its interdisciplinary approach, merging Physics and Information Technology to promote collaborative learning and exploration of AI applications beyond traditional academic confines. The partnership with DesignTech Systems added practical relevance, equipping participants with industry-aligned skills and contemporary technical competencies. University leaders, including Vice Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath and Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Shahid Rasool, praised the initiative for enhancing the academic ecosystem by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Registrar Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir emphasized the administration’s commitment to supporting skill development and interdisciplinary engagement. Prof. Debanjan Bose, Head of the Physics Department, highlighted the University’s ongoing efforts to incorporate advanced technologies into its academic framework, viewing the workshop as a crucial step in preparing professionals to tackle complex scientific and technological challenges. Dr. Yash Paul, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Department of IT, reiterated the importance of continuous academic initiatives to bolster AI-driven research and innovation across disciplines. Representatives from DesignTech Systems acknowledged the significance of academia-industry partnerships in fostering a robust AI ecosystem in the country.
