World Unani Day-2026 celebrated at Ang

Anantnag : To highlight the significance of Unani Medicine, the Department of AYUSH in collaboration with District Administration and District Information Centre, Anantnag celebrated World Unani Day, with a mega awareness and interactive program held Tuesday at Town Hall, Anantnag.
The program was attended by ADDC, Sandeep Singh Bali as Chief Guest, CMO, CAO, CEO, DAO, faculty and resource persons from Government Unani Medicine College Ganderbal, AYUSH doctors, BMOs, officials of AYUSH Department besides members from the general public.
Addressing the gathering, the ADDC appreciated AYUSH hospitals and practitioners of the district for their effective role in healthcare and advised the department to create further awareness about AYUSH so the people get its benefits.
District AYUSH Officer, Dr. Javaid Ahmad, in his lecture highlighted the role of pure water, air, and nutrition in overall human health. He said the department is committed to serve the general public adding that Unani Medicine is an age-old practice of treating people in harmony with nature and the human body.
On the occasion, colourful cultural items including a skit on the theme and drug de-addiction were presented by artists from the District Information Centre.
