Srinagar : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday undertook an extensive onsite visit to various Panchayat Halqas of Harwan Block and inspected several ongoing developmental works in the area aimed to improve road connectivity and enhancing public convenience.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz ul Aziz; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Superintending Engineer R&B, Tatheer Manzoor, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer R&B, Farid Ahmad, and other concerned officers. DDC Member from Harwan Block, Shabir Ahmad Reshi, was also present during the inspection.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing construction of three bridges over Maloori Nallah at Syedpora, Sarabagh, and Gandtal–Ganimohar Road.
While inspecting the construction of the bridge at Syedpora Bala over Maloori Nallah along with the link road to Mavas Canal, the DC assessed the progress and quality of work and directed the concerned executing agencies to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timelines while maintaining quality standards as per approved specifications.
The DC was informed that over 65 percent of the work on the project has been completed. The project is being executed by the R&B Department under NABARD. It was further apprised that the bridge structure is almost complete, while work on the approach road is in progress and the link road is scheduled to be taken up shortly.
Similarly, at Sarabagh area of Syedpora, the DC took stock of the construction of the bridge over Maloori Nallah being executed which is expected to significantly improve connectivity for the adjoining areas.
Later, the DC inspected the ongoing works on the construction of the bridge over Maloori Nallah at Gandtal–Ganimohar Road, being executed by the R&B Department under NABARD. The DC reviwed the progress of the works and issued necessary directions to the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of the project to benefit people in local habitation.
The DC was informed that about 35 percent of the work has been completed on the project, which will improve connectivity in Gandtal, Ganimohar, Dardkhovar, Moshpajan, Dar, Fakir Gujri and other adjoining areas.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with local residents and stated that the completion of bridges over Maloori Nallah along with approach and link roads will significantly enhance connectivity and benefit several habitations in the area.
He emphasized the importance of quality infrastructure for improving public convenience and directed officers to maintain close monitoring of all developmental projects in the block.
