Ramban: In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, the District Industries Centre (DIC) RambanTuesday organized a one-day awareness workshop at Government Polytechnic College, Ramban.
The programme was held under the guidance of Director Industries & Commerce Jammu, Arun Manhas and under the supervision of General Manager District Industries Centre Ramban, Ravinder Kumar, with the objective of creating awareness about Udyam Registration under RAMP, PMEGP Scheme, PM Vishwakarma and other flagship schemes being implemented by the Industries & Commerce Department through DIC Ramban.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Principal, Government Polytechnic College Chanderkote. Functional Manager DIC Ramban, Swaroop Kotwal interacted with the participants and highlighted various schemes aimed at encouraging youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. Educated unemployed youth were sensitized about financial assistance, subsidies and incentives available under PMEGP for setting up manufacturing and service sector ventures, along with other initiatives such as the centrally sponsored NCSS scheme and incentives under the J&K Industrial Policy 2021–30.
Awareness was also created regarding PM Vishwakarma, a comprehensive skill development initiative for traditional artisans and craftspeople. Entrepreneurs were informed about the benefits of MSME Health Clinic registration and were encouraged to register their ventures on the MSME Health Clinic portal (https://jkmsmehealthclinic.jk.gov.in).
The workshop witnessed active participation from various line departments. Officers including AD MSME, Director SBI RSETI Ramban, AD Handicrafts/Handlooms and officials from the Employment Department, JKEDI, bank representatives and successful young entrepreneurs from Kashmir University delivered informative sessions.
Nearly 100 aspiring youth and artisans participated in the programme and were motivated to avail benefits under various self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes.
