Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Sopore and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that In Baramulla, Police intercepted a suspect Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, during a patrol and recovered 28 grams of a charas-like substance from him. In a separate incident in Sopore, another police team apprehended one Mohd Ramzan Gojree, who was found with charas-like substance concealed in corn husk. Both individuals have been arrested and are currently in custody at their respective police stations, where cases have been registered against them under relevant legal provisions. Police have initiated further investigations into these incidents. In its police reiterated its commitment to zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking for safeguarding youth and society from the dangers associated with drug abuse.
