DC Ramban reviews arrangements for Mahashivratri

Ramban; Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, Monday chaired a meeting of officers to finalise arrangements for the Mahashivratri festival, with emphasis on smooth, safe and harmonious celebrations across the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Arun Gupta; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; Dy SP Traffic, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar Headquarters, CMO, Executive Engineers of JPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD and PMGSY, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, Food Safety Officer, Fire & Emergency Services officials, while SDMs and Tehsildars joined virtually.
The Deputy Commissioner directed SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements in their respective jurisdictions, including deployment of magistrates and security personnel at the prominent religious places.
The Senior Superintendent of Police briefed the meeting on security and traffic management plans and advised coordination with temple committees for installation of CCTV cameras at vulnerable locations.
To maintain sanitation and hygiene, all BDOs and Municipal Committees were instructed to ensure cleanliness in and around temples.
The AD FCS&CA was asked to conduct joint market inspections with Revenue, Police and other departments to prevent overpricing and ensure availability of essential commodities, LPG cylinders and other food ite
The Executive Engineer JPDCL was directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Mahashivratri, while the Jal Shakti Department was asked to maintain regular water supply and deploy water tankers wherever required.
The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to ensure availability of ambulances, adequate medical staff and essential medicines during religious processions and celebrations.
The PWD Department was directed to ensure proper road maintenance near temples and adjoining areas to facilitate smooth movement of devotees. Meanwhile, Fire & Emergency Services were instructed to deploy fire tenders at key religious locations during Mahashivratri to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies.
