Jammu :BJP National General Secretary and Prabhari J&K Tarun Chugh, Saturday addressed the Mahila Samvad Program on Saturday organised by BJP Mahila Morcha at Karan Palace, Mishriwala Road, Jammu.
Addressing the even Chugh emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, women empowerment has become a fundamental aspect of governance and development in India. He highlighted the transformation of women empowerment from a mere slogan to a structured national mission, supported by robust policies, welfare schemes, and socio-economic reforms aimed at enhancing the status of women throughout the country. The Union Budget for 2026–27 reflects the government’s commitment to empowering women by prioritizing women-centric initiatives. Chugh noted the focus on education, skill development, and entrepreneurship, particularly for women in rural and border areas. Initiatives such as the establishment of girls’ hostels in every district, scholarships for technical education, and support for women entrepreneurs are creating new opportunities for young girls to achieve self-reliance and contribute to national development. Chugh also pointed out that the abrogation of Article 370 was a historic decision for women in Jammu and Kashmir, granting them equal property rights and legal protections under central laws concerning domestic violence, dowry, and workplace safety. Welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana have enhanced the financial and healthcare security of women, promoting dignity and social justice. Furthermore, Chugh noted the Modi Government’s significant steps to increase women’s participation in governance and leadership, particularly through the Narishakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which aims to boost women’s representation in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies. He mentioned that initiatives like Mudra Yojana, Stand-Up India, and self-help groups have empowered women to become entrepreneurs and job creators, especially in rural and agricultural sectors. Chugh commended the BJP Mahila Morcha for its grassroots outreach, connecting government welfare initiatives with women beneficiaries. He asserted that empowered women form the foundation of a strong nation and reiterated the BJP’s commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and economic independence of women. He expressed confidence that the women of Jammu and Kashmir will play a pivotal role in building a prosperous and self-reliant India under Modi’s leadership. Sat Sharma echoed these sentiments, stating that women are the backbone of society and the nation. He highlighted the Modi Government’s efforts to ensure dignity, security, and economic empowerment for women through strong laws against practices like triple talaq and domestic violence, alongside welfare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and Matru Vandana Yojana. He encouraged women to take an active role in nation-building.
