Announcements include seven high-speed rail corridors, 20 new National Waterways, freight corridors and enhanced urban infrastructure funding. The total Budget outlay is ₹53.5 lakh crore, while the fiscal deficit has been pegged at 4.3 per cent of GDP, signaling continued fiscal consolidation despite global economic uncertainties.

As per the Budget Estimates, the amount represents total central transfers to J&K for the next fiscal, signalling continued support for development and governance in the Union Territory.

Omar Abdullah Tables J&K Budget 2026–27, Stresses Growth And Stability: Chief Minister and Finance Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday presented the Jammu and Kashmir Budget 2026–27, calling it a roadmap for resilience, reform and inclusive growth. The Budget projects an 11 per cent growth with GSDP rising to ₹2.88 lakh crore and prioritises infrastructure, rural development, agriculture and social sectors. The gross Budget is pegged at ₹1,27,767 crore, with a focus on fiscal prudence and capital investment.
