DDC Poonch reviews progress under Capex Budget, CSS

Poonch : District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma Friday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of works under the District Capex Budget 2025–26, along with Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and UT Sector Schemes across the district.
The DDC conducted a detailed sector-wise review of ongoing and upcoming developmental projects. During the meeting, the Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) and Executive Engineer PMGSY presented detailed briefings on the physical and financial status of works approved under various heads, including PWD Roads, DDC Grants, Health, Secondary Education, NFB, Untied Funds, ULB, CDF, TSP Roads, YSS, Fisheries, Forest Protection Force, Archaeology, Education M&R and other sectors.
The DDC also reviewed progress under NABARD-Roads, Samagra, PMAAGY, BADP, NABARD-AH, Tourism, Apni Mandi Horticulture, SASCI and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan among other developmental initiatives and stressed the need for early completion of all works.
The meeting also discussed major infrastructure projects including the Mini Secretariats at Mendhar and Poonch, motorable bridges and other key works.
While accessing the status of roads, bridges and other developmental works, the DDC reviewed completion timelines, tendering status and conducted a division-wise assessment of projects under PWD (R&B) and PMGSY.
He stressed on the importance of enhancing expenditure, expediting implementation and ensuring completion of all projects within stipulated timelines. He also directed concerned departments to accelerate the pace of execution and closely monitor progress.
The meeting was attended by CPO Shama Un Ahmed, SE PWD (R&B), Mehmood Ahmed, DFO (Territorial), Mushtaq Ahmed, Executive Engineer PMGSY Poonch, Mendhar&Surankote, CEO Mukhtar Ahmed Manhas, CMO, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, DYSSO Mohd. Qasim, CEO Municipality Poonch Khalil Ahmed Banday, EO Municipality Surankote and other concerned officers.
