Assistant Legal Defense Counsel (ALADC) Bumika Rajput sensitized the students and staff to the objectives of the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” scheme and other women centric government schemes meant for the welfare, education and empowerment of girls, including scholarships, health benefits and legal protections available to them.
Another legal awareness programme was organized in collaboration with Social Welfare Department at Panchayat Kotli Bhaga, Reasi to promote “Bal VivahMukhat Bharat” (Child Marriage Free India) campaign. The PLVs informed the participants about the legal provisions on prohibition of child marriage, the rights of children and the social, psychological and health consequences of early marriage.
Meanwhile, a door to door awareness campaign was conducted by TLSC Mahore at ShajrooMahore and BathioeMahore to identify and educated the senior citizens about the Legal Services and Welfare Schemes. The PLVs interacted with senior citizens, identified their legal and welfare-related issues and guided them about free legal aid services, maintenance rights, old age pension schemes, healthcare benefits and other government welfare schemes.
