Srinagar : In a significant step towards strengthening agri-entrepreneurship and digital empowerment in the agriculture sector, Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, Thursday inaugurated a comprehensive two-day training programme for Krishi Udhyamis at the Directorate Hall, Lalmandi, Srinagar.
The training programme is designed to build the capacities of Krishi Udhyamis (Agricultural Entrepreneurs) across the Kashmir Division with a focus on enhancing their skills in business management, digital tools, and sustainable practices to promote agri-based enterprises and ensure long-term income generation for rural youth and farmers.
Addressing the participants, the Director emphasized the critical role of the specially developed business module for Krishi Udhyamis. He highlighted how this module serves as a key driver for fostering agri-entrepreneurship, boosting productivity, and creating viable income opportunities in the agriculture sector.
The Director also underscored the importance of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) App in streamlining agricultural services and information delivery. He called for effective and seamless onboarding of all Krishi Udhyamis onto Common Service Centre (CSC) platforms to enhance digital service delivery, improve accessibility to government schemes, and support farmers at the grassroots level.
This initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Kisan Khidmat Ghar scheme, which aim to empower local communities, create self- employment opportunities for youth, and transform agriculture into a more efficient, technology-driven, and profitable sector.
The two-day programme will cover essential topics including capacity building, digital empowerment, effective use of the KKG App, CSC integration, business planning, and sustainable growth strategies for agri-enterprises.
The inauguration event was attended by Ajaz Hussain Dar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Srinagar, along with his team; scientists from
Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs); Krishi Udhyamis from Srinagar district, and representatives from the CSC team.
