Dear Editor,
I want to publish my view through columns of your leading newspaper in Kashmir on SWAYAM Credit Transfer Betrayal reminding it that Institutions are weaponizing academic standards as a smokescreen to deny credit transfers. Below mentioned are my views on the subject:-
SWAYAM Credit Transfer Betrayal: Despite the Ministry of Education’s clear directives under the NEP 2020, universities are shamelessly sabotaging the SWAYAM initiative. While official memoranda tout access, equity, and quality the ground reality is a bureaucratic nightmare. Institutions are weaponizing academic standards as a smokescreen to deny credit transfers & effectively trapping students in an obsolete pedagogical cage. This isn’t just administrative lethargy it is a systemic betrayal of a student’s right to flexible modern education. When universities refuse to honor credits from a government endorsed platform they render the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) a toothless concept. The government must stop issuing polite reminders and start enforcing punitive measures including the withholding of grants against institutions that treat credit mobility as an option rather than an obligation.
