DC Srinagar kick starts vaccination programme for Hajj pilgrims at Haj House Bemina

SRINAGAR FEBRUARY 05: In connection with Hajj-2026, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Thursday kick started 3 days immunization/vaccination programme for Hajj pilgrims of Srinagar District here at Bait-ul-Hujaj (Haj House), Bemina.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer, J&K Hajj House, Dr Shujat, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad, Tehsildar Shalteng, Rayees Ahmad, Zonal Medical Officer Batamaloo, Dr Sameena, District Immunization Officer and other officers of Haj House were present on the occasion.

During the visit, the DC took stock of the vaccination process and inspected the arrangements put in place to facilitate the pilgrims of district and to ensure smooth vaccination of pilgrims.

While interacting with the Hajj Pilgrims, the DC greeted them  for Holy pilgrimage of Hajj-2026.

On the occasion, the DC said that the vaccination is aimed to protect the Hajj pilgrims from various infections, ensure their health and safety, and protect them from any contagious diseases. He emphasized on ensuring seamless conduct of the vaccination process.

The DC was informed that the vaccinations process is scheduled for 3 days from Wednesday during which vaccine for Meningococcal Meningitis, Poliomyelitis and Seasonal Influenza (SIV) are being administered to the  Hajj-2026 Pilgrims for which special counters have been setup for smooth conduct.

The CEO, J&K Hajj House, briefed the DC that a total of 1173 pilgrims from Srinagar district shall be  taking their pilgrimage for Hajj-2026 and are being vaccinated at Bait-ul-Hujaj (Haj House), Bemina.
