DC Baramulla Reviews Progress of Works Under SBM-G in District

Directs concerned to expedite works on Segregation Sheds, PMWUs, DEWATS & FSTPs

Baramulla, February 05: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting at the main meeting hall of DC office to review the progress of works on assets sanctioned under the Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin (SBM-G) in the district.

During the meeting, the DC took a detailed review of the implementation status, physical and financial progress, and the on-ground impact of works executed under SBM-G.

The DC reviewed the status of tendering, allotment and execution of works sanctioned under the Annual Plan 2025–26, directing the concerned officers, particularly the BDOs, to expedite the execution of works by mobilizing men and machinery and ensure completion of all projects within the stipulated timelines.

Taking block wise review of Segregation Sheds and Plastic Waste Management Units (PWMUs) for waste segregation, the DC directed all concerned BDOs and executive engineers to ensure completion of the works within a week’s time.

Further, the DC directed the concerned BDOs to submit the DPRs and start the construction work on Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS) and Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) without any delay.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP), Executive Engineer REW Baramulla, Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Assistant Executive Engineers/Assistant Engineers of REW.
