Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in separate incidents and also recovered significant quantities of contraband substances.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a police party from Bijbehara Police Station during naka checking apprehended three drug peddlers at different locations. The first individual, Mushtaq Ahmad Wagay, was found in possession of approximately 500 grams of a charas-like substance near Tulkhan crossing. In a separate incident at Kerikadal, Qaiser Jeelani Bhat was arrested with 6.60 grams of a brown sugar-like substance. Additionally, Saboor Ahmad Haroo was apprehended besides which police while acting on credible inputs seized of 9.27 grams of brown sugar-like substance. Following these arrests, cases have been registered under relevant legal sections, and investigations are underway. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug peddling activities, appealing therein people to cooperate by sharing information regarding drug trafficking activities.
