New Delhi: ‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday received a delegation of Foreign Ministers from Arab countries, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and Heads of Arab delegations who are in India to participate in the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, according to an official government release.

‎During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the deep and historic people-to-people ties between India and the Arab world, noting that these connections have long served as a strong foundation for the relationship. He said the shared history of trade, culture, and civilisational exchanges continues to inspire and strengthen cooperation between the two sides.

‎“The bonds between India and the Arab world are rooted in centuries of close interaction and mutual respect. These ties remain a source of strength as we work together to address contemporary challenges and opportunities,” the Prime Minister was quoted as saying.

‎Prime Minister Modi outlined his vision for the India–Arab partnership in the years ahead, reaffirming India’s commitment to further deepen cooperation across key sectors, including trade and investment, energy, technology, and healthcare. He emphasised that enhanced collaboration in these priority areas would contribute to shared prosperity and deliver tangible benefits to the peoples of both regions.

‎According to the release, the Prime Minister also reiterated India’s continued support for the people of Palestine and welcomed ongoing peace efforts, including the Gaza peace plan. He conveyed his appreciation for the constructive role being played by the League of Arab States in promoting dialogue and supporting initiatives aimed at regional peace and stability.

‎“The Arab League has an important role to play in advancing peace and stability in the region, and India values its efforts in this direction,” the Prime Minister said.

‎The visiting dignitaries welcomed India’s engagement with the Arab world and expressed appreciation for India’s growing role as a trusted partner in the region. They also discussed ways to further strengthen the institutional framework of India–Arab cooperation and to build on the momentum generated by the India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

‎The second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is aimed at reviewing progress in bilateral and multilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration between India and Arab countries in a rapidly evolving global and regional context.
