Reasi: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Rural Development Department (RDD) to assess the progress of assets created under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and other ongoing developmental projects across the district.
During the meeting, the DDC undertook a detailed review of the progress, utilization and maintenance of assets created under various government schemes. She emphasized timely completion, proper upkeep and optimal utilization of assets to ensure maximum public benefit.
Reviewing the status of biogas plants in the district, the DDC directed the concerned departments to complete all pending projects within the stipulated timelines. She also assessed the physical and financial progress for FY 2025–26, instructing officers to execute all works strictly as per approved plans and stresses that delays in Panchayat-level works would invite administrative action.
The e-KYC status was also reviewed, with the DDC directing the Assistant Commissioner Development to compile a list of migrant workers with incomplete e-KYC and coordinate with Lambardars and Chowkidars to ensure timely updation.
Ongoing and completed works for FY 2024–25 and 2025–26 were reviewed and directions were issued to release pending payments immediately after completion of all codal formalities.
A strict review of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) was conducted. Officers were directed to carry out physical verification of houses to ensure compliance with sanctioned norms and initiate recovery proceedings in cases where funds have been released but work remains incomplete.
Taking serious note of delays in sanitation infrastructure, the DDC directed ACD and concerned Block Development Officers to immediately commence and ensure time-bound completion of Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) and Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems in their respective blocks. She stressed that these projects are critical for strengthening rural sanitation and waste management and must be completed on priority.
The Capex Budget 2025–26 projects were also reviewed, with specific instructions to expedite work progress, particularly in Gulabgarh. The DDC further directed that completion certificates be obtained from the concerned Engineers to verify the physical execution of works. Additionally, the DDC instructed concerned departments to ensure that all pending tenders are allotted at the earliest to avoid delays in the initiation and completion of developmental works.
Addressing internal administrative matters, the DDC directed officers to optimally manage staff deployment, ensuring that dedicated personnel are assigned for the effective implementation of district initiatives.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD Vijay Kumar, BDOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
