Kulgam : A comprehensive review meeting on the “Classes of Joy” initiative was held Friday under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan at the Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer, Deputy CEO, ZEOs of all zones, District Coordinators, ZRPs, and representatives from the Pratham Education Foundation.
The agenda focused on a detailed review of last year’s implementation of the Classes of Joy programme, assessment of key performance parameters, and formulation of a renewed and strengthened action plan for the upcoming cycle.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed to start fresh orientation sessions in English and Mathematics subjects to strengthen classroom delivery and improve learning outcomes. He also directed the conduct of zone-level sensitization workshops on English and Mathematics using the Teaching at the Right Level approach. Experts from the Pratham Education Foundation and the Education Department will jointly ensure the smooth and effective conduct of subject-wise trainings. Immediate steps will be taken to finalize the selection of teachers and commence their training on priority.
The DC further instructed that a robust monitoring mechanism be put in place, with special focus on identified weak areas to ensure 100 percent coverage and effective implementation. He also directed the preparation and provision of durable Teaching-Learning Material kits to teachers for enhanced classroom facilitation.
Supplementary activities, supported by well-designed modules, will be introduced to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Special focus was laid on Aspirational Block Manzgam, with detailed discussions on strengthening infrastructure, enhancing digital classrooms, and ensuring effective implementation of teaching at the Right Level interventions.
It was also informed that the Pratham Education Foundation will provide digital literacy content for all schools across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed the launch of a special initiative to provide individualized support to students from Grade 1 to Grade 10, including the development of individual learning profiles for effective progress tracking.
