He emphasized on researched based analysis to understand the underlying reasons pushing youth towards drug abuse. The DC also instructed for the installation of multilingual awareness sign boards across the district, highlighting the devastating consequences of drug abuse.

The Drug Inspector informed that the department conducted 15 raids since the last NCORD meeting, resulting in the closure of one chemist shop for violations. It was further informed that three Panchayats have been declared Drug-Free, including two in Gool and one in Ramsoo.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Social Welfare Officer to intensify awareness under the ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’. “The IEC material shall be displayed and distributed among youth during sports activities and public events across the district,’ he instructed.
The Education Department was directed to intensify awareness in schools and colleges through sustained campaigns, counselling, deterrence measures and regular activities such as debates, seminars, painting competitions, chart-making, quizzes and rallies.
