NCORD meeting reviews drug control measures in Kishtwar Distt

Kishtwar :  A District-Level NCORD (Narco Coordination Centre) meeting was convened Friday under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma to review drug control measures, de-addiction framework and assess the progress of the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive review of the prevailing drug abuse scenario in the district and sought detailed inputs on vulnerable areas, affected age groups and identified hotspots.   He directed that all nine nominated resource persons from the line departments to ensure wider outreach and effective public awareness on drug abuse prevention.
The ACR apprised the meeting that details of four persons involved in drug-related cases have been received from the SSP and action for freezing and seizure of their properties is being initiated as per the procedure.
The Tehsil Social Welfare officer presented the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions taken at the previous NCORD meeting.
It was informed that with the start of internet service in Marwah the implementation of computerized billing systems in Jan AushadhiKendras and other medical establishments, along with the installation of CCTV cameras, has been initiated in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner directed for deploying special flying squads across the District to keep check on sale and consumption of tobacco around educational institutions,
The Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars, heads of Sub-Division and Tehsil Level Committees were asked to accelerate declaration of Panchayats as Nasha Mukt in consonance with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure (SoP). The Chief Education Officer informed the meeting that 246 schools in the district have been declared tobacco-free.
 The installation of CCTV cameras at identified hotspots and monitoring of courier services was also reveiwed. The SDM Paddar and   E&T Department were directed to conduct joint exercises to curb the sale of illicit liquor (Desi Laahan) in the area.
It was informed that the District Employment Centre has sanctioned two loan cases under the Mission YUVA scheme to support the rehabilitation of two youth who recovered from drug addiction.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Naresh Singh, ADDC, Vinod Kumar Behnal, ADC Pawan Kotwal, ACR Idrees Lone, all SDMs (Virtual Mode), ACD Manoj Kumar, CEO MC Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ARTO  Tasleem Wani, CAO Kushal Chandel, Chief Education Officer Sanjay Dogra, Inspector Excuse and Taxation Department, Drug Inspector, Nodal Officer ATF Dr. Hariss (Via Virtual Mode) along with other officers and officials of the concerned line departments.
