DLSA Reasi hosts ‘Mediation for Nation Campaign 2.O’ event at Katra

Reasi: District Legal Services Authority Reasi on Wednesday hosted an awareness program on “Mediation for Nation Campaign 2.O” here at Court Complex Katra.
The Legal Awareness Program was inaugurated by the DLSA Chairman (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Khalil Choudhary in presence of Secretary Pooja Gupta, Sub –Judge &Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Katra Sidhant Vaid, Judicial Magistrate First Class Katra Vishal Bharti, Bar President Katra Parvesh Kant and members of Bar, Panel Advocates, Mediators, Defence Counsel, Staff members, Para Legal Volunteers and litigants.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman shared his in depth knowledge on the topic and explained the perspective from Litigation to Litigation free resolution.
Adv Raj Kumar Nagotra and Adv. Rachni Sharma, the resource persons, explained the process of Mediation and how can it be proceeded.
Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel Adv. Bhumika Rajput emphasised the importance of Mediation in the easy disposal of the long pending matters. Further Bar President Adv. Parvesh Kant stressed upon the need to aware people about the importance of Mediation.
Earlier, Secretary DLSA Pooja Gupta delivered the welcome address, while Sub Judge Chairman TLSC Katra presented the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, anti-drug awareness programs were organised at Mahore, Dewal, Channa Neosi on the topic “Say no to Drugs” by PLVs of TLSC Mahore. The participants were encouraged to seek timely, confidential and stigma free assistance through the National Drug De-Addiction Helpline (1933), Tele-MANAS-National Health Assistance and Wellness Supoort Helpline (14446) reinforcing a rights based and compassionate approach to recovery.
