DC reviews multi-departmental distt taskforce measures to curb illegal mining in Udhampur

Udhampur: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, Wednesday chaired a meeting of the multi-departmental District-Level Task Force Cell to review enforcement measures in place to curb illegal mining in the district.

The DC urged officers to adopt a vigilant and proactive approach in identifying and curbing illegal mineral extraction. Stressing a policy of zero tolerance, she called for stringent legal and punitive action against violators to deter future infractions.
To further tighten surveillance, the DC directed to install GPS devices in all vehicles transporting minerals to enable real-time tracking and prevent unauthorized transportation.
