Baramulla: Amid intense snowfall across various parts of District Baramulla, Police in Baramulla demonstrated swift response and humanitarian commitment by extending timely assistance to people in distress at multiple locations.
Upon receiving an emergency call, the SHO of Police Station Kreeri immediately relayed the information to Police Post Wagoora for urgent intervention. Acting promptly, a police team rushed to Watergam, where a pregnant woman required immediate medical attention. Despite adverse weather and difficult road conditions, the team successfully evacuated her and shifted her safely to SDH Kreeri for necessary treatment.
In another incident, Police Post Wagoora received information that Abdul Rehman Shah, a resident of Mongam, had sustained serious injuries after coming under a snow-laden shed. Police personnel immediately reached the spot, rescued the injured individual, and shifted him to SDH Kreeri for medical care.
Similarly, DySP Operations Kreeri received information about a two-year-old baby girl who had fallen unconscious at her residence in Khan Mohalla, Thindma, Kreeri. Owing to heavy snowfall and extremely slushy and slippery road conditions on a steep slope, neither the family nor an ambulance could access the location. Police personnel rushed to the spot and safely evacuated the child to SDH Kreeri, where she is presently reported to be stable.
Police have reiterated their commitment to public service and urged citizens to contact the nearest police unit for immediate assistance during emergencies, particularly in view of the prevailing harsh weather conditions.
