DC Kupwara inspects Snow Clearance, Health Institutions in Lolab Sub-Divn amid fresh Snowfall

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, Tuesday undertook an extensive tour of Lolab Sub-Division to review snow clearance operations and assess the functioning of health institutions following the second spell of snowfall in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Lolab, Mudassir Ahmad; ACR Kupwara, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad and other concerned officers.
During the tour, the DC inspected ongoing snow clearance work on the Kupwara–Lolab Road, Badibera–Lalpora Road, and other interior roads.
He directed all snow clearing agencies including Mechanical Engineering Department, R&B, and PMGSY to expedite snow clearance across all routes to ensure uninterrupted movement and minimize inconvenience to the public.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited Sub-District Hospital Sogam, where he inspected various sections including OPD, Dialysis Unit, X-Ray, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Gynaecology, Labour Room, Dental Section, and other facilities. He reviewed the duty roster of doctors and hospital staff and instructed the Block Medical Officer to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of healthcare services. Besides, he inspected NTPHC Lalpora and verified staff attendance and duty arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the movement of essential services in Lalpora Tehsil and directed the concerned Tehsildar to ensure prompt clearance of snow heaps from the main chowk at Lalpora to facilitate smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
Later, the DC chaired a review meeting at the SDM Office, Sogam, to assess the status of snow clearance and the functioning of essential services in the Lolab Sub-Division.
The meeting was attended by SDM Lolab, ACR Kupwara, Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar Lalpora, and other concerned officers.
